In this video, Matt is here to talk about S.E.E.R. ratings.
S.E.E.R. stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, which is similar to the miles per gallon rating on a car. For instance, a Hummer gets very low gas mileage because it does not run very efficiently. In contrast, a Honda Fit gets great gas mileage, because it is extremely efficient.
A Hummer is going to be like a 14 S.E.E.R. on an air conditioner, and your Honda Fit is going to be your 18 and 20 S.E.E.R. The higher the S.E.E.R. rating, the more energy-efficient your unit is.
It might cost a little bit more to get a higher efficiency unit, but it will pay itself off in the future.
