Today, I wanted to talk to you a little bit today about hail damage. One of the things that we do is when we’re out doing our spring tune ups, we start looking at the outside unit to see if there’s any hail damage on there.
As you all know, this is the time of the year that we’re going to get a lot of storms that produce a lot of hail. We’re looking at the outside which will get damage first and then, if the hail is big enough, it’ll actually get into the coil on the outside unit.
While we’re cleaning the unit, we can take those ail guards off and if we see any hail damage on it, we actually can take a thermal imaging camera and see if it actually damage the flow of the freon in the system. If that’s the case, that is something that is covered under your insurance company. We’re actually pretty good at working with insurance companies on hail damaged systems to get ’em repaired or replaced depending on how bad the hail is.
You’re going to have a lot of roofers that are going to come out to you and usually, they’ll do general contracting to take care of your roofs and stuff and any other damage that’s on the house. They can give us a call and we can go and inspect that outside unit make sure it’s operating properly, and we do a little tune up while we’re there.
